Flickering flames of fire subdued,
Sweet sounds I listen as they conclude.
How happy and harmless are thee,
But blind and baffled not able to see,
It’s infinite interests that once stirred,
Fine feelings of frenzy once thought absurd.
Rogue redness revealed now mostly gone,
Wrapping warmly while the rest falleth on.
Great goodness goes from the burning fire,
Four friends found old now must retire.
Fallen fellows feel the steady glowing light,
Exhausted embers embrace through the night.
Tiresome two transformed by the pyre
For they fear fleeting flames of the fire!
