We have so much information at our fingertips yet nothing ever seems to match. I recently read the story about the Nevada rancher who is in a stand off with the feds. You read one report and this man is profiled as a land squatter who has decided not to play by the rules, just another fringe right winger who needs to get in line or suffer the consequences.
You read another account and he is regaled as a hero, someone standing up to the oppressive federal government that has once more over stepped its bounds. And another account shows the feds are up to a sneaky land grab for a solar panel farm and behind it all is a nice pay day for the senate majority leader.
What to believe?
Then you read about healthcare and we are told how great Obamacare is. Turn the page (or add another tab in your browser), go to another news source and you learn what a disaster it is.
Then there’s the Ukraine, women inequality, food stamps, unemployment numbers, are we in a recession or out of the recession, education – is common core good or evil (for the record I deduce it is evil), etc., and so on and so forth and what have you ….
Then we look at diet and exercise … which is the best way to eat and live. Is a high protein diet the way to a healthier lifestyle? Dr. Atkins would tell you so. But, ask Dr. Joel Fuhrman and he will tell you a plant-based diet (commonly known as vegan) is the Holy Grail, delivering weight loss, heart disease prevention, lower cholesterol, etc. all by eating plants.
I mean does anyone really know? Information is at our finger tips We have lap tops, smart phones, tablets, cable TV, etc., making it easier than ever to access news and information galore, but I find myself more confused than ever before.
Maybe, just maybe, that’s the way they want it (whoever they is) …
